Abed Ereikat

What an amazing story. The author has a very detailed recall of his experiences, back to his childhood, early work career, immigration to America, making a family, and current career. He overcame numerous obstacles, some life-threatening, to grow into the person he is today. His parents, particularly his father, provided direction and inspiration, which led him and cultivated his persona today. I personally know the author but had no idea of what he’s been through and what he’s accomplished. Every time I meet with him, I come away inspired. It’s true, America is the land of opportunity, if you work hard, have a good attitude, assimilate and treat people with respect. An easy read and truly inspirational.

Abed's leadership skills are unlike any that I have seen in my 20 years of hospitality experience. He is a servant leader who keeps his team member's well-being in the forefront when making decisions. He also has an uncanny ability of understanding each individual's unique talents and how to apply them for the good of the individual, as well as the team. His drive and passion for the industry are second to none, as he works harder and smarter than any other leader I have worked with. He is results driven who inspires others around him to do their best and sets a shining example for what a leader should be!

This book is an amazing read that tells of Abed's journey to the man and leader he has become. Abed writes in vivid detail and shares his story that reminds you that through hard work and dedication we truly can do anything! This book is written from the heart and shares a positive message that resonates today now more than ever. I have had the privilege of working with Abed and I can tell you that his message is one that he lives every day. He inspired me to the be the leader I have become, and this book reinforced the message he preached daily. This book is a great reminder of what really matters. They are not only words on paper, but Abed is also an amazing leader who truly puts these into practice. The book teaches you (or reminds you) that through hard work, perseverance, love, kindness, we can reach anything... all of these lessons within a beautiful, entertaining story that is hard to put down. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting, could not put it down! I will definitely go back to it and read it again and again anytime I need a reminder of all the good things in this world, and all the good we can do if we are determined to make a positive difference!

I overheard someone mention this book and am thrilled I purchased a copy. The author describes his personal (and very successful) principles that he has used to govern his life. Descriptions from his childhood journey through his successful careers, he keeps you interested and thoughtful. He uses his experiences to encourage, teach and inspire. His leadership is full of "sage" wisdom and perspective. The book is just the right length with notes in the back. I am truly thankful I read it and have now passed several copies to friends. This is one book well worth your time.

Abed and I worked together at Hilton Grand Vacations. I was his Human Resources partner at two different properties during my tenure with the organization which gave me the opportunity to see him in action on a daily basis for a couple of years.
